Lenovo has launched the Yoga Slim 7i Carbon 13.3-inch laptop with the Intel Evo platform at Rs.1,10,990. The new laptop is positioned between the Yoga Book series and the Yoga 910 in terms of specifications and pricing. 

But what makes the Yoga Slim 7i Carbon 13.3-inch convertible laptop stand out is the premium build quality and cooling system that helps the device to run for up to 13 hours. It weighs around 1.6 kg with a thickness of 16.9 mm, and has a screen-to-body ratio of 86.6 percent. 

It is also a fanless laptop that is powered by the latest 7th generation Intel Core i5 processor paired with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB SSD storage. We used the Yoga 730 in the 3DMark Sling Shot Extreme Extreme test, which gave us a score of 4,953 on the sub-score and 3,924 on the overall score.

Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon has a stylish exterior, but it doesn't quite beat the design and build quality of the YogaBook, as it lacks any kind of security lock. However, the Yoga Slim has a sturdy build, which makes it comfortable to hold. 

The Yoga Slim's design also feels premium and premium is exactly what the laptop should offer. The full-sized keyboard and large touchpad are ideal for those who are into gaming. The laptop also comes with the Bang & Olufsen speakers, which are tuned by Harman Kardon.

Laptop weighs just 1.4 kg and measures a mere 12.8 mm in thickness. The device is available in matte black or silver colour options. The chassis is soft and the touch-panel feels quite soft. We got to play with the Yoga Slim 7i Carbon 13 for about one-and-a-half days and in that duration the laptop did not heat up even once. 

Since the laptop is kept on the table top all the time, we did not feel any vibration in the entire duration of our usage. Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon 13 gets a metal back cover with ventilation holes. A fingerprint scanner is located at the right side of the laptop. 

The Yoga Slim 7i Carbon has a 13.3-inch HD touch-screen display with 1,920 x 1,200 pixel (Full HD) resolution. The touch panel offers a quality of touch-screen display.

The Yoga is a 14.6-inch laptop that offers the premium look and feel without making an impact on the overall size. Windows 10 comes with a clean interface and feels intuitive on the Yoga. The keyboard is very responsive and offers strong feedback. 

You can use Yoga with both the wrist and neck support. The overall feel of the Yoga is both heavy and thin. As we stated earlier, the Yoga is a 13.3-inch laptop. The overall laptop weighs just 1.76 pounds. The laptop is relatively light and would be comfortable to carry with one hand. 

Though, the Yoga still has some extra weight when compared to a 13-inch laptop in terms of sheer strength. If you are a power user who needs a rugged and thick-type of laptop, the Yoga might not be your ideal option.

The screen of this laptop looks as vibrant as it should be. The screen of this laptop has 2K (2560x1440p) as its maximum resolution, which is the same as Apple MacBook Pro. The screen of this device is more vibrant and vivid as compared to the MacBook Pro. 

The display is a comfortable size, which is long enough to allow users to comfortably use it for long hours. The screen of this device has a 178-degree viewing angle, which is ideal for watching movies and videos. 

The laptop is powered by the Intel Core i5-8250U processor, which is a dual-core chip with 8GB of RAM. The power efficiency of the processor is commendable, and it can easily handle even basic tasks with ease. The performance of this laptop is one of its major selling points.

The Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon features a 14-inch Full-HD (1920x1080 pixels) display. The laptop has a wide-viewing angle of 178 degrees and is accurate and vibrant. The IPS display is good, however, the viewing angles of the display could have been better. 

The overall user-interface is smooth and lag-free on this laptop. However, the touch response isn't up to the mark and stutters when using the laptop in rainy weather. Overall, the laptop provides a good multimedia experience. 

It can play a variety of audio and video files, whether on streaming websites or inside your device's media player. The keyboard of the Lenovo Yoga Slim 7i Carbon is comfortable and does not require much adjustment to type.

➤ Battery Life

A highlight of the Yoga Slim 7i is the massive 13-inch full-HD screen. The screen supports touch, pen, and touch-based gesture recognition. On the other hand, the bezel width measures just 5.5mm. Lenovo claims that the screen is scratch-resistant and supports 50 percent more colors than its predecessor. 

While we did not get a chance to fully test it, but we will do that soon. The Yoga Slim 7i comes with an active stylus that is accurate and comfortable. There are separate inputs to charge it. There is a lightweight frame and is slender than its predecessor. 

The thickness of the laptop is just 8.7mm. It weighs just 1.3kg. The battery life of the Yoga Slim 7i is the key highlight. On our video loop test, the laptop lasted 9 hours and 20 minutes.

Should You Buy It?

The 13-inch laptop has a full-HD (1920×1080 pixels) display, is powered by an Intel Core i5-8250U processor and runs Windows 10 with Edge browser preloaded. The Yoga is backed by 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage with the option to expand further. 

It also features an IPS display and is said to have a viewing angle of 178 degrees. The laptop weighs 1.21kg, which is quite light for a 13-inch laptop. On the connectivity front, the Yoga is powered by a 2×2 MIMO 802.11ac Wi-Fi card and Bluetooth 5.0.
